Trish Singh, PhD, LPCC
Director of Behavioral Health
Dr. Singh is a doctor of Mind-Body Medicine with a concentration on integrated behavioral health care delivery. She has been the owner of A New Awakening Counseling, a progressive outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, since 2006. Her agency provides treatment to those impacted by or within the criminal justice systems of New Mexico.
Dr. Singh is currently researching and writing her first book on a trauma-informed approach to family members who are caregiving for a loved one affected by substance use disorder. Prior to COVID, she was on a robust speaking circuit discussing her work and her theory of Caregiver Trauma Response, a framework for a trauma-informed approach to building resiliency in families struggling with addiction.
In her over 25 years of clinical practice working with persons struggling with substance use and their families, she believes that people can transform their lives, even after spending years in prison or years in addiction, through holistic healing practices. The capacity for the redemption of the human spirit is extraordinary, and Dr. Singh describes feeling honored to have witnessed miracles through the use of mind-body medicine.
Dr. Singh is also an integrative wellness coach and recent graduate of the Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research Certificate Program at the California Institute for Integral Studies (CIIS) Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research (CPTR). Dr. Singh is creating new avenues to reduce the barriers for those seeking psychedelic-assisted therapies in the future.
